NaNoFiMo 2010: vampires!

I was going to take a couple of days off and then do a review of what I've learnt from NaNoWriMo, but then I discovered that I've already written 7 k in two days on a new story and I'm being stalked by a main character from the story I was working on before November...

He is creepy, by the way. He's a vampire who doesn't bite people, which you'd think made him a nice guy, but he's just not. He specialises in meeting up with random people and then dragging them off to abandoned buildings where he ties them up and extracts their blood using medical equipment.

So anyway, I think I really need to put this guy to sleep and the one thing I really have learnt from November is that writing 'the end' helps make the characters shut up. I want this vampire guy to settle down and stop stalking me, so the solution is to finish his story.

Therefore - NaNoFiMo, or National Novel Finishing Month. The goal is to write an additional 30k on a story and write 'the end'. My current status is:

Starting point: 43648

Words added: 0

I'll set up some kind of chart here in the next few days, but in the meantime at least I can add progress updates in posts. Watch this space!
